Re: Quicktime Movie Compression Issues

Hi I have a patch in progress that tiles frames from a given movie over the screen. I am making a story-boarding / color / scene analysis tool where you can set the preferred time interval between frames and get a matrix of thumbnails.

I ran into an issue and have searched the documentation but couldn't find a reference to the optimal movie codecs QC prefers. I am sure the issue relates to the codec, but wonder what the general advice might be.

Here is one strip: Codec Info: H.264 Decoder, 320 x 240, Millions [no sound]

Here is another strip (of the same movie with the same settings in the patch): Codec Info: Apple MPEG4 Decompressor, 320 x 240, Millions

AAC, Mono, 44.100 kHz

The first strip behaves as I'd expect. You might not notice but the second strip is display alternating views of just two frames. Is this a memory / performance / compression / decompression issue or a bug?
