Hi,

you should "render" the compositon first in order to get usable results.
I'd suggest to export it as DV stream (this is best for iMovie) using QuickTime Pro.
That is the way I'm doing it and it works fine for me.

If you are familiar with interlaced video I can give you some hints how to make your composition interlaced and therefore smoother on TV screens.
