uncompressed HD (1920x1080) requires 8x 10K rpm striped SCSI disks.
maybe less with SATA but not much less.
I haven't done the maths but 2000x750 is not much less bandwidth, its
far beyond what
you can do with a single disk.
you can do 2 layers of HDV 1080i from a single SATA disk, but thats
with more than 10:1 compression
ratio.
