Re: Decklink Intensity compatibilty

Definitely file a bug. You should only see a 2 or 3 frame delay with one card.

Hi.

So weve done some quick tests, and the results are not too promising.

Test rig:

Mac Pro Dual (Dual Core) 3Ghz
8GB ram
Mac OS X 10.5 - clean install, with Dev Tools
Intensity Drivers 1.8
Quicktime Pro 7.2.1
2x Decklink Intensity PCI-E cards

No odd quicktime codecs or other software besides Max/MSP/Jitter

Quartz Composer still retained the lag. We did not do any concrete frame accurate testing, but it seemed on par with previous versions (it still went from laggy to not so laggy, to almost snappy, back to one or two seconds behind). Interestingly, Quartz Composers video input patch only listed *one* Intensity input, and seemed only to use the *second* card. We could not switch to another Intensity source.

Blackmagicks On Air software was able to recognize both Intensity inputs and showed no lag what so ever.

We also tested Cycling74's patching environment, Max/MSP/Jitter, and were able to list both Intensity cards as input sources, and showed no lag.

So, Im not sure whats going on, or who to speak to for resolution. I will be sending our reports to Blackmagic for confirmation.

Does this look like a bug? Should I file one officially?

Thanks,

Hello.

Has anyone tried out the Decklink Intesity card with the latest release?

Vade reported a 45 frame lag with a previous release:

Of course, getting an input from two cards simultaneously would be a god start for a great HD
mixer!
Thanks for your work.
