Re: Directory Scanner problem

I did a work around the Directory Scanner issue since this patch is unsafe under Leopard (i don't understand why?).

It looks like any patch that can provide information about you or your PC is marked as unsafe. The directory scanner could find information about what programs you have installed, what your web visits look like, and how many pictures/songs/whatever you have. Wrap it up in a composition that puts it all together on a URL, and you have some risky informatino broadcast to the world.

I am sure there is another way, more elegant and automatic, to search in a folder and select all the images and bring them in as strings in order to avoid the unsafe patch (Directory Scanner). Can that be done using javascript or maybe writing a new patch that makes the same action "safe" so you can actually export to quicktime?

A 'safe' patch would be the easiest, but also risky (as mentioned above). I don't think JS has the ability to enumerate files.
