Re: Quartz Composer exported movie shows black frames only

I have been using QC in Tiger so that is why I could not find the menu item you mentioned. Do you know if there anything similar in Tiger?


Quark was totally correct (and I need to work on reading more thoroughly :), there's no "Safe Mode" under Tiger. At least, there isn't an interface for it. There's an undocumented safe mode that the user has no information about though, if I recall correctly (It was implemented in a totally different way than it is on Leopard). This prevents a few patches from functioning (video input, maybe audio input?) It's been a while since I've played with QCTiger though, so the lines are a bit blurry.

You could try making simple compositions (image loader -> billboard, patch time -> image with string -> billboard, video input -> billboard, image loader -> Core Image Filter -> billboard), exporting those to Movies, and then seeing where things start and stop working.
