Re: Tiger-Leopard: Output in Macro

Hello Christopher,

you are right, there are red macros inside. If there“s no workaround without removing all these red macros there will be a lot of work to do :-)

Thank you!

Christopher Wright:

I have several compositions made in Tiger and would like to run them in Leopard as well. My main Problem seems to be that you are not allowed to publish an output port from a Macro patch in 10.5 anymore, which was no problem in 10.4...so i get error messages again and again when opening my Tiger Comps in Leopard. I simply need to publish the output of a splitter (boolean).

You can publish outputs in macro patches:

The only caveat: red macro patches (ones with renderers inside, like the bottom-most macro patch) cannot have them. I'm guessing that your compositions have red macros, causing this problem. It looks like removing the red patches from inside the macros causes the macro to revert to being green (allowing outputs), so that might be something to try, though it's a lot of work.

You could also try fiddling with the Tiger runtime setting in QC.... that's about the only other solution I can think of.
