you must specify the size in MB, e.g.
cd ~/Desktop
./newRamDisk.sh 256
It will then create and mount a ram disk, e.g. "RamDisk256"

It was difficult to find an average frame rate because it moves
quite a lot.
I agree -- I find the "frame rate" patch, set to "average over last
second" hooked to an Image With String patch on a billboard is the
best way to check the average frame rate.
