Re: QCCompositionLayer not working with garbage collection

Does CAOpenGLLayer suffer from these problems too?

Is there a document describing these issues?

It seems like QCCompositionLayer doesn't support garbage collection.
Is there a way around this?

All of QC, CoreImage, and CoreVideo don't support Garbage Collection very well, and have really bad side effects (like this) when it's used. There are also associated performance penalties that make it a Really Bad Idea. There may also be some outstanding memory leaks when it's used, which is also Really Bad.

So the way around it is not to use GC I guess (not that that's a simple change, I know...)
