I didn't think I was mixing them up. I am saying that LaunchServices
needs to use another method when two UTIs are both
designated using the same file extension. I am suggesting that in
cases where two or more UTIs use the same file extension that
LaunchServices
should then look at the file's OSType to determine which is the
proper UTI for the file.
Or am I still mixed up?
Seems not... ;-)
I just wanted to clarify that point as some people are just seeing
UTIs as "an other way for file types". And indeed... LS should try use
all the tags it knows of to find the proper type.
