Earlier (late august), Dean and others talked a bit about broadcasting
under Mac OS X. Two things:

1) He got a sigbus trying to use the C Api under OSX
(I seem to get the same thing, but of course, I could be doing
something wrong; my test app dies in QTSNewPresentationFromData)

I tried to port usher - unfortunately I did not have the time to really chase it - I found the uncarbon bits and said (well, you know what I said ;-) and then I stopped working on porting usher.

2) He also said that he tried a QTJava example, and determined "the QTJ
examples require the same kind of work arounds for GWorlds as
using a SGVideo channel on Windows."

the QTJ stuff is relatively functional, I the "GWorld Bug" is (I think) an assumption about current GWorlds on the part of something... if you set the GWorld for the SG/Presentation before you use them, you don't crash:

presentation.setGWorld(theCanvas.getPort()); // set the port before anything tries to use it.

I'm pretty sure that could be _any_ valid gworld, but I haven't tested... It's in as a bug.

cheers,

dean
