Opening multiple instances of the same movie file

Hi,

Maybe this is a silly question, but here goes...

I'm writing a frame-grabbing app in VC6 using the QT 501SDK. The app has 2
windows in a view, each with a play/grab control bar, and I want to open the
same video file in both windows. I'm using a slightly-modified version of
the CQuickTime class (included in the Windows Sample code downloads). Each
of the two windows in the view has it's own CQuickTime object associated
with it.

(It look sort of like the Adobe Premiere NLE screen)

I've got 2 problems:

1. When I run the app both windows size and display the first frame
correctly. However only the
first window will actually play the movie. The second one seems to play the
movie (at least the controller position bar moves) but the movie is not
displayed.

2. If I move the view the 1st window repaints itself fine, but the 2nd
window "lags" - the movie stays in it's original position, and doesn't
"follow" the window.

I've noticed that the QT player doesn't allow me to open the same movie file
more than once, even if I launch a new player and try to open the file
again, it just ignores me. I can't find a way to change this behaviour.

Is it possible to open the same file in multiple windows using QT? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Colin.
