Still seeking solution to drifting Quicktime sound

Hi,
I posted a week or so ago about inaccurate values received from
GetMovieTime, as my movie plays. It's strictly sound, and over the course
of three minutes or so the time reported by GetMovieTime is off by about a
second. People have suggested that this is due to something within the
sound card.

My question is is there any fix to it? I have been working by just using 30
seconds or so of movie at a time. Eventually though, like now, I would like
to work on a whole song at once. Does anyone know if buying a different
sound card would help?

Basically, I just need some way to tell EXACTLY what time value my ears are
hearing at any given time.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Bob
