Using threads with QuickTime under Windows?

Is the QuickTime threading support (eg, EnterMoviesOnThread) also supported
under Windows? If not, are there any other options for running QT movies on
separate threads under Windows?

As I recall, most QT routines used a common critical section under Windows
to avoid multiple thread access (something like the "carbon lock" under
MacOS X, I believe). Is that still the case?
