Does anynone know how to export from a .mov to raw avi file? I followed the
sample on techincal note QA1147, but it doesn't find any component when I
specify kWindowsRawCodecType instead of kCinepakCodecType. Mr Perry told
me that there's no compressor for the kWindowsRawCodecType type, only a
decompressor; maybe is there another component that could do the same job.

Specifically, I want to export to raw AVI, RGB24, can any one point me
towards some sample code?

Try using kRawCodecType. I just did a test export from QuickTime Player as an AVI with compression set to "None", and when I open it again, QuickTime Player says the format is 'WRAW' which is kWindowsRawCodecType.
