QuickTime DRM?

Searching through the QuickTime-Talk/API archives I'm not sure how I've
missed finding any discussion regarding implementing digital rights
management in QuickTime. Obviously, there's a great deal of discussion
regarding iTunes and its *.mp4 files, however for general DRM I keep
reading that the Windows Media and Real architectures are really the
only show in town when it comes to solid, API level DRM. Are there any
products out there that can produce protected QT video files in addition
to audio files and have the same level of control over the content that
WM and RM have? If so, can any combination of QT codecs be used in such
files? I am aware of products like the DMOD workspace but a major issue
I have with it is that it requires both content developer and user to
have the application installed in order for content exchange and DRM to
work successfully.

Thanks for your time,
Jamie
