G.729 support coming in QuickTime?

So the day job lately is a SIP VOIP client, and they license the G.729 codec
for the Windows version but not the Mac, it being $50K/platform. This is a
problem for a possible biggish customer that wants to order several thousand
copies, but they don't want to pony up the license fee for the Mac G.729 SDK
themselves. This possible customer went on to say that they knew Apple was
putting G.729 into QuickTime, so I should just use that. And this was
complete news to me, and I can't find any reference to that possibly
happening anywhere.

Any of you heard anything about a G.729 codec coming to QuickTime???
