are you calling
InitializeQTML(0)
at startup on Windows?

then call "EnterMovies" etc. if you use movies stuff

at exit call "ExistMovies", then "TerminateQTML"

you can call those two on the MacOS, but I think
"InitializeQTML/TerminateQTML" is not necessery on MacOS, but on Windows if
not called at all, you just get a crash the first time you try to use
QuickTime

so do add the InitializeQTML/TerminateQTML calls if you forgot them (think
that they can be called on MacOS too, don't need to add some conditional
compilation block to just have them called on Windows)
