Re: destinationBufferMemoryPreference

Hi John;

Thanks very much for the reply.

However, I also want documentation (what to use, when to use and why to use) on some of the other fields in the structure too. Since Apple has not updated their html pages for any of these functions since 1999, nothing for QT 6.0 or higher is even listed let alone documented.

Frankly if I was someone new to the Mac and had to use Apple's online documentation to bring product to the Mac - I would think that Apple had stopped doing development on that Mac back in 1999 - 5 YEARS ago. This only strengthens the perception that not only are companies (like Adobe, Verizon, MicroSoft) stopping development and support for the Mac - so has Apple.

But what do I know about it...

Exactly where is the documentation for
"destinationBufferMemoryPreference" in the "CodecDecompressParams"
structure as listed in "ImageCodec.H"???

further down the file

/* values for destinationBufferMemoryPreference and
codecBufferMemoryPreference */
enum {
kICMImageBufferNoPreference = 0,
kICMImageBufferPreferMainMemory = 1,
kICMImageBufferPreferVideoMemory = 2
};
