Re: how to keep a list of SG Components pointers?

Sorry I dont think I clarified myself properly.

I want to return an array of the component pointers, not the instances
(which are created when the component is opened). Also returning their
names and their input source number (ie isight #1 - input 0, isight #2
- input1, etc)

even apple says in their documentation that pointers (of any sort)
cant be encoded into say a dictionary, as when decoding them it breaks
the pointer :(

I realise that I can have only one input open at a time, I just want
to be able to choose which one should be 'active'

as a side note a particular 'vdig' component can have multiple entries
(ie 2 or more webcams connected to the bus - in this case the
firewire) but when this happens you have to specify which 'input
source' of that component you want to open.

I hope this clarifies what I am trying to do.

Thanx
