I'm not worried about the fact that those calls are 'deprecated', but I would love to find out a way to shut up the childish warnings thrown by GCC 4.  I end up with hundreds of warnings building a project and have to wade through the meaningless Quickdraw warnings to find useful messages.

But once you have one of these, there's no non-deprecated way to
dispose of it :-(
