Hello,

do I have to use the QuickTime 7 API in order to decode Apple lossless (alac) files? My code - which works well for aac, mp3 and others using SoundConverter fails miserable when applied to an Apple Lossless file.

It starts with a very werid sample rate of 0x10000, and I guess therefore my call to SoundConverterOpen fails.

I would very, very much appreciate hints that will let me run in the right direction. If I need QuickTime 7, hints on what the "best practice" to use it if installed would be appreciated, too
