SetMovieMatrix and QTMovieView

I am attempting to use SetTrackMatrix (I tried SetMovieMatrix too) to scale my movies that I pass to QTMovieView but the view does not seem to honor either the movie matrix or the video track matrix scaling and translation. The preserveAspectRatio flag has not effect on this either (if I turn this off the movie will stretch to fill the entire view). Am I missing something? Or do I manually need to calculate the movie bounds by overriding -(NSRect)movieBounds ?
