I'm trying to create movies for the iPod using QuickTime and can't
get it to work. I export a movie with one video track, no audio,
320x240, 30FPS, H.264 encoding, put it into iTunes, "Update iPod"
and iTunes says it can't copy it to the iPod because it "cannot be
played on this iPod". I've tried MPEG2 with the same results. The
weird thing is that even if I use QuickTime Player to convert the
movie to iPod format or use the iTunes "Convert to iPod" function,
the resulting movie has the same problem. Any ideas? Do I need a
sound track? Is there any application available which will tell me
exactly what is wrong with the movie? The catch-all iTunes message
is less than helpful.
Looks like I've solved my own problem - adding an empty sound track
to the movie seems to cure it.
