Decompressing frames

I want to pull frames out of a movie for some custom processing. I am hoping to pull them out into an 8 bit R'G'B' buffer.

But the problem I have is that I have been looking around the web for how to do this. I have found many references that point me towards DecompressSequenceBegin, et al. So that is the way I look like I am headed. However, I cannot find any references (other than the one below) that show how to load in the actual data to decompress. I want to be able to read from a .MOV. .DV and .MPEG movies.

http://devworld.apple.com/documentation/QuickTime/RM/ CompressDecompress/ImageComprMgr/G-Chapter/chapter_1000_section_5.html

This code seems old because it is based on forks and FSSpec.

Does anybody have any references they can point me towards that actually show how to load data ready for decompression? I think I have found enough references with what to do once I have the data loaded.

Many thanks for any help provided!!
