I have a PNG image stored in a Buffer. I need to add this image as a frame of the movie. I have found a few examples on how to do this and it looks straight forward enough, however the examples I have seen use GWorlds to Draw the Image into. Is this the recommended way of doing this these days? Not sure which APIs to use?

I believe you should use an ICMCompressionSession for compression (does not rely on GWorlds), I'm not sure how to decompress the still image to a CVPixelBuffer (needed for the ICMCompressionSession) though.
