Quicktime VR object from the command line

I found an article by Tim Monroe at:

http://www.mactech.com/articles/mactech/Vol.20/20.12/TheTerminal/ index.html

This gets me very close to filling a need I have for a command line tool that can take a series of still images and pack it into a QuicktimeVR object .mov - the only difference between the tool described in this article and what I need is I need a VR object controller, rather than a linear movie controller.

The only other such tool I'm aware of at the moment is Pano2QTVR on Windows, which doesn't meet my OS requirements...

I'm not a C programmer (not since school), so I'm hoping those here with real skills and a willingness to help can get me pointed in the right direction. If it's going to be a major modification then I'll more than understand annoyance with my request and would be willing to contract with someone to build out a more capable tool, but if this is a minor patch to the code listing I already have to add output object VR, I'd greatly appreciate the help.

Anyone willing to throw some help my way?
