Different Video- and Audiostream

Hi everybody,

i'm using several command-line encoders like ffmpeg or mencoder to produce Videos for the iPod.
But i have a huge problem. The encoded files i get have different lenght for the video and audio
stream. I want to concatenate the files later with another command line tool called MP4Box but
when i use async input files i get an even more async output.

So why i'm writing to the quicktime-api list?

I made several tests with the export over Quicktime. The exported files there are 100% sync even when
i import an async video file where for example the audiostream is 40ms shorter than the videostream, the
exported video is 100%sync again.

So can anybody of you tell me how Quicktime handle the problem of different stream length? Or
can anybody tell where does this come from?

Kind regards,

Tobias Brockamp
