detecting dropped frames?

Hello all,

I'm writing an app based off of the seqgrabber and using the data proc to handle my own file writings.  I'm starting to examine how you detect dropped frames in this pipeline.  Can i count on all pro video sources to return frames ~100 timevalues apart? ie: is a duration between frames of 200 a dropped frame?

Any other ideas?
