If Quicktime player can play, why QTMovieView can not?

Hi,

I have video files that come from JVC's Everio camera,
it's in the TOD format, info about this TOD can be
found here:
http://www.elurauser.com/articles/JVC_Everio_mod_files.jsp

With QuickTime Component plug in for Everio, I can
play back those TOD files in the QuickTime pro without
any problem. Now, I made a small Cocoa app, putting a
QTMovieView, and assign a TOD video file path to it,
the program will not play back the video, even the
controls become invisible, any idea how to play those
TOD files in a Cocoa/QTKIT app? Thanks,

btw, after installing the Everio camera's plug in for Quicktime, I can see nsTODimporter.component in the /Library/QuickTime, checking the info.plist in the contents, it has this:

<string>nsTODimporter</string>
<key>CFBundleIconFile</key>
<string></string>
<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
<string>ch.rafz.naegeli.christoph.ff_avi_importer</string>

Angelo
