I've been working with 3 HV20's and I'm also experiencing problems similar to yours. In my case I sent a question (with code) to this list, but I hadn't any answer. I suspect the problem is not related to the HDV codec because (in my case) in DV mode it neither works. I think it's a qtkit issue, but not for sure.

The best answer I got from a friend from Apple was something like "Ask the experts in a lab at the WWDC", so now I'm going there with one HV20 to test it with them. If you are going to the WWDC'08 let me know to join both questions in one, if not I'll tell you what I've been said.

I've got 2 HV20's attached to a machine, and when I try to open capture sessions to both of them simultaneously, I get a white frame for one of them (and the capture callback doesn't seem to happen) -- is this a known issue, or some other obvious mistake? And idea where the problem is? (i.e. is it a qtkit thing, a firewire thing, a hdv codec thing, etc)?
