I think I know what your problem is, try this... run the two cams in vcr mode and see if they both show up, or run them on separate buses. Let me know if that solves the problem.

The "run them on separate buses" part might be a little harder than it seems. Some people might not be aware that Macs with multiple firewire ports share one firewire bus (yes, even the 800 / 400 ports -- one bus). So to get a second firewire bus, you'd need to use a pci firewire add-in card (or equivalent Express card add-in).


Thanks both of you for this insight (and David, for the additional QTKit notification to listen for) -- I've made a more verbose build, and some detailed test case instructions for the user to carry out, which should hopefully test each of these cases. Maybe it's not a bug after all :)
