QTJava detection

I have both QuickTime, QTJava and Java install in my computer. When I open the applet, it's work. When I open it with a MacOS X, it's work fine to...

But the applet doesn't work in other computers (PC) of the company. Does it need something special to see an applet using QTJava? Does the client computer need QuickTime, QTJava and Java JRE or does it need only the JRE?? How can I made automatic detection for need plugins?

PS: I compile my applet with Java 1.3.1 from "sun"
