QT for Java a JMF replacement?

Is anyone using QuickTime for Java and can comment on it's ability to be
a replacement for JMF.

We need a way to capture incoming audio data, convert each sample to
32-bit floats, do some processing, and spit it back out as audio out.
Is this something QT for Java can do? I believe that JMF can't.

Any help would be appreciated. I honestly don't know where to look now
that I've invested a lot of time in JMF research and came up empty
handed.

Mike
