Search the QTJava archive, I have posted code in the past
that makes autoplaying and looping movies (normal or
palindrome ones). There was a small thread about it and a
bit after some helpful responses I made that code and shared
it with the list as well...

you could read that atom value probably and autoplay the
movie yourself if you don't have a moviecontroller

I also think that setting was respected by the QuickTime
Player application, not the QT engine itself
