I think that's the best way - if you're looking to conserve space or something, just be sure to have good cleanup routines - keeping QuickTime loaded isn't going to be a big footprint if you don't have many components open.

(and maybe Anant would be the best to answer - but calling QTSession.close() may actually cause you problems if you keep references across a session accidentally or something)
