Found it !
The cause of the crashes is simple and terrific at the same time:
As soon as I installed the 1.4.1_01 jdk everything worked fine.
QTJava crashes on QTSession.open() when it thinks there's no jre/jdk
installed in your machine (it looks into the registry in order to find it).
This prevents one from packaging and deploying a customized jre with his own
application. THAT'S TERRIFIC, expecially if your app relies on a specific
jre version!
Solution ? QTJava MUST get relevant jvm information from the current
"java"/"javaw" command execution path, not from the registry ! Please Apple
FIX it.
