Re: Image Capture Questions

try downloading Abstract Plane's VDIG (don't have their URL
handy at the moment, might be http://www.abstractplane.com,
or maybe http://www.abstract-plane.com), have found it to be
more stable than WinVDIG

if that doesn't work either, then it's some other problem
(e.g. with the WDM [Windows Driver Model] driver that your
card provides [WinVDIG and Abstract Plane VDIG both wrap the
WDM driver up - through DirectShow I think - to appear as a
VDIG to QuickTime])

can you capture using other software than QuickTime? Some
software like VirtualDub support VfW (video for windows), an
older MS interface that your card may also support - don't
suppose WinVDIG or AP VDIG support VfW too apart from WDM
drivers. Anyway try if you can record using VirtualDub. Get
the latest version of VirtualDub in case it supports WDM
capturing too apart from the older VfW

else try some commercial capturing app like Adobe Premiere
and see if it can capture OK or not

btw, since you see video feed on the screen but can't record
maybe it could also be some DMA setting on your machine?
Usually Windows is set to manage DMA stuff automatically for
devices (right click the hard disk in the device manager
[control panel / system applet] and select properties)
