can't use URLs with QTFile like that (of course it shouldn't crash the JVM
and you can file a back [with a JVM error trace - it saves such file in the
JVM folder when crashing])
try QTRef (or was it QTMediaRef?) or something, else use QTFactory static
methods to get a Movie Component that handles your URL
please file a bug at:
http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/
giving the trace, the sample code that causes it and the URL you tried
