Movie.start() vs Movie.setRate()

I notice that calling movie.setRate( 1 ) plays the movie normally if the movie is a... well, is a movie. But if the movie is an audio clip, setRate() doesn't make the sound play out loud (though it does register as progressing and completing -- I just don't hear anything). If I call movie.play(), my audio clips (as well as actual movies) play just fine.

The QT API docs are pretty hazy here. Can anyone explain the difference between .play() and .setRate( 1 )? Also, it seems that .setRate( 0 ) works just fine as a synonym for .stop().
