A little investigation has revealed that the content guide shown by
QuickTime Player is at this URL:
http://qtpix.apple.com/qtpix/qtpix.mov
However trying to open that URL in a MoviePlayer instead ends up
launching QuickTime Player, sort of like a helper app.
Does anyone know what kind of content
http://qtpix.apple.com/qtpix/qtpix.mov really is? More importantly, is
there a way to create my own window that can display this content
without launching QuickTime Player?
