Re: midi sync

Hi,
I don't think that its a midi synth problem.
By the way, have to say that I'm running windows.
I'm running a lot music software and playing back midi is no problem
The obscure thing is:
prerollAndPlay() :  delayed but right length
play() : the first note is longer (about 2-3 times)
           and then it runs "stable"
using a "*.wav" sound , runs in time

isn't there an way to sync?
I wouldn't wonder if I do something esential wrong cause as I said I'm on qtj since two days only

i will try to start the flashtrack later, but this is as you said a very "dirty" solution I think
better would be a kind of monitor or listener that knows when the first note is played and
then start the flashtrack

No I just open the midi file as a movie, get the first track
put this track in a movie which contains another track (flashmedia)

As I'm very new to qtj , i guess that in this way the default midi synth is used.

So you may very well have a latency problem with the software synth.  In that case, the only real cure is to delay the start of the Flash track.  But the adjustment will vary from machine to machine, so you should provide a way for the user to set the value.  Perhaps there's a way in QT to query the device latency, but if there is, I don't know how reliable it would be.
