hi,
everybody in deep concern about QTJ again? Let's
hope they'll fix and maybe even update it soon. Anyway, while still believing in
the conceptual beauty of Quicktime in java, we spend some time widening our
and our main project's horizon recently and have now put something up, that may
be interesting for some of you: dsj is a DirectShow-Java wrapper that let's you
open and play all kinds of DirectShow compatible media in java apps on windows.
You may download it from http://www.humatic.de/htools/dsj.htm.
This is the basic incarnation in the moment, solely rendering on the java side.
The next version will bring true native rendering into java
windows.
The package also contains a Swing MovieController
replacement that has often been asked for on this list. It works with
both our DSMovie class and quicktime java movies. Take this as an
indication that out intention is in no way anti Quicktime, but purely the
benefit of java developers and end-users.
Feedback and comments are very welcome. Apologies
if this comes in like crossfire to the recently announced and very interesting
I/ON project. It's not meant to be. I'm sure there are more attempts in that
direction going on, as it is about high time.
all the best
