Java developers may outnumber Objective C developers, but I'm guessing when
it comes to creating desktop applications for OS X, it's the other way
around. Then if you narrow things down to primarily QuickTime, it may be
that QTJ usage is scant (who knows). It's all about having the right
numbers in terms of developers.
In any case, it makes sense that Apple is focusing on iPhone
(Javascript/Safari/QuickTime) as Chang pointed out. Plenty of developers
there. But even on the iPhone front, Java seems to be getting shorted with
Jobs claiming no one develops in Java any more (a big lie especially in
mobile).
