I need to start doing some research into transitions in QuickTime.
Does anyone have any pointers on the subject? Working code,
cautionary tales, etc?
We're working on a slideshow that can export to MOV files. We
already have this working, but to achieve a fade transition it
requires 48 frames (for a 2 second, 24 fps transition). This takes a
lot of time and disk space.
We noticed when iPhoto exports a MOV file, it doesn't seem to create
each frame separately: so its much faster at exporting a much smaller
file.
It looks like we may try the deprecated QTTransition class? (We
realize it's deprecated, and Apple's support of QTJ is shaky as it
is... but it's worth at least exploring?)
