Re: multiple cameras - audio bug?

Hi,

This is a little unrelated, I've been having a similar problem, but I'm coping. If you want to know which of your identical cameras is which, they are numbered in the order you plug them in, so the second camera to get plugged in is camera #2. About half the time, one of the cameras freezes, but then I just restart the app until it doesn't. As for audio, I don't know, but you could get around it with a separate audio device I suppose. Hope that helps

Hello Ethan,

In my application I am able to access several cameras at the same time
but ONLY if they are different models or brands. However, my task was
easier than yours because I don't use audio and just grab live video
frames. On the other hand, application doesn't use config dialog, so
names of identical video devices are really the same and application
is not able to distinguish them. So, I am afraid that not much help
with audio. Please, write back to the list if you will find solution.

Btw, are you saying that config dialog does work for you for accessing
video of exactly same cameras? It used to result in JVM crash. Do you
call it from outside of AWT thread?

Best,
Michael
