Sony just announced a hi-end camcorder ($40,000 list):
'The new MSW-900P MEPG IMX professional camcorder model is switchable in
operation between standard 50 field interlaced or 25 frame progressive,
thus offering filmmakers 25 frames per second (fps) capability -- which
can be easily transferred to a 24-frame motion picture film release
print, or upconverted to a 24 fps HDCAM(r) master.'
