I don't know if anyone else has come across this, but on my old G3
(233MHz) powerbook, which is running OS 10.2.1 but is having
problems playing back some of my more complex videos, I've just
tried first to reinstall QT5 from the special reinstaller on the QT
site, and then to unistall QT6, and found that neither would work.
The message with both of these installers is "You cannot install
this software on this disk. This disk is dimmed because the system
version is 10.2 or greater"
So unless I want to reinstall the whole system, it seems I'm stuck with QT6.
Have I missed something in the news, or is this the way it is to be?
QuickTime 6 is part of OS X 10.2.x so you could say you're a prisoner of QT6.
Before you install 10.1.x back, put in a bug report to Apple with a
description of your problem. Make sure you give them a copy of the
media so they can try it out:
