i've been in such a beast, often called a "cave". quite a stunning effect,
though i've only experienced 3D data (the space shuttle hangar), not
photorealistic content, using goggles and headtracking.
this was at the "bp center for visualization" at the university of colorado.
i was hoping to organize a field trip there for the "summit in the rockies"
VR conference, but it conflicts w/ some other conference they will be
attending on geophysics (they do a lot of work w/ oil exploration).
