I have one of the older G4 desktops (2 x 450MHz) with the analogue
input, and it still works with OS 10.2.1. I have tried FCP voice over
and SparkME just plugging in an Apple mic (with the long mini jack).
On a similar topic, and a great shock to many people is that Premiere
6.5 has lost/mislaid its analogue audio capture feature. It now
includes a third party app (SparkLE) presumable to compensate. There is
much rumbling among the faithful.
